
Friends, let me let you in on a little secret (well it’s probably not much of a secret), but the key to healthy, glowing skin starts on the inside, literally. It can be difficult to think clearly, when you’re in that “skin” panic, rushing to the nearest skin counter, thinking about the next serum, cream or chemical to “make things right” and “do the job”, so you can get on with your life (can anyone relate?) When it comes to “troubled” skin (this can be a delicate/sensitive topic) patience and persistence is key; basically, don’t give up on your goal of healthy/glowing skin, but pay attention to your body. Acne/troubled skin is basically your body crying out for attention ~ Cleansers and creams truly cannot combat internal inflammation, infections, and hormone imbalances now can they? (Didn’t think so) ~ SO when it comes to your skin (if there’s one thing I’ve learnt, having my own human skin difficulties), it’s that my body is in trouble, and this is just another symptom (yes, it’s a hell of a painstaking, unfair symptom, but it’s the way the human body works). How you start the day, is almost as important (if not more), as the way you spend your day. I start with smoothies ~

Friends, not all smoothies are alike; people often think, “because it’s a “smoothie” it must be a “safe” go-to. However, a majority of “healthy” smoothies, are riddled with sugar (not properly balanced with proteins and healthy fats). Fruit is a glorious alternative, but starting off the days, I found myself adding bananas, and berries, pineapples, and apples, in my smoothies, with small amounts of protein, fat and omegas to balance. Next thing I knew, I’d be hungry within the next HOUR! I thought, how is this possible, I eat healthy breakfasts!? Once I started eliminating fruit slowly out of my smoothies (eventually entirely), I noticed myself having more energy, feeling more sustained, and looking/feeling better overall! I was SUGAR-CRASHING all this time! But when I brainstormed, that I had the power to change that, BOOM, instant inspiration, and hence brainpower smoothies were born ~ Enough chit chat, this powerhouse smoothie, was designed to combat inflammation, supporting your skin and wiping away your worries, with a boost of omega-3 fatty acids, healthy fats and protein! So wipe your tinctures friends, and GET BLENDING

Place all those GAlorious ingredients in your blender, and let that baby roll.
Gooey Glowing Green Smoothie

Glowing skin is just around the corner! Aide your gut while catering to your tastebuds
Ingredients
- 1/2 Avocado
- 1/2 Cup Fresh Spinach
- 1 Persian Cucumber (small)
- 1/4 Cup Mint Leaves
- 1 Lemon (juiced)
- 2 Tbsp Chia Seeds
- 1 Tbsp Maca Root Powder
- 1-2 Cups Unsweetened Nut Milk (of choice)
- 1 Handful Crushed Ice
- 1 Scoop Vanilla Pea Protein Powder (optional)
Instructions
- Place the ice at the bottom of the blender (this is actually my secret to a thicker smoothie), and add the avocado, spinach, cucumber, mint, lemon, chia, maca, and protein powder
- Add a small amount of nut milk, and turn on the blender slowly, churning the mixture, and consistently adding more milk until gone
- Keep blending, turning up the speed until a thick, gooey consistency is reached
- Pour into a glass and top with your favorite goodies, or some chia seeds perhaps!
Notes
TIP: Not to disappoint, but nut butter doesn’t really work well with this blend, so we’ll save it for next time friends!
